Biography

Dr. Kaye Herth, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N. is Dean Emerita, Minnesota State University, Mankato. Dr. Herth has extensive clinical, teaching, and administrative experience at several universities and in hospitals, hospices, and community health settings. She is a highly respected international scholar on hope and has garnered more than 2 million dollars in grant funding. Her pioneering research has focused on hope in those individuals with a chronic or terminal illness and the impact on their family/significant others, as well as on homeless families and children. Recently her work has focused on leadership from a Hope Paradigm. Her instruments to measure hope are used throughout the world and have been translated into 28 foreign languages and included in eight major instrument textbooks. She has over 68 publications in refereed professional journals and over 250 presentations at regional, national, and international professional conferences.
